What is Whiplash? Injuries to the neck caused by a sudden movement of the head, backward, forward, or sideways, are referred to as 'Whiplash'.Whether from a car accident, sports or an accident at work, whiplash or neck injuries warrant a thorough chiropractic check-up.
How does it happen?
Whiplash is most commonly suffered as a result of a road traffic accident. An impact/collision causes the head to suddenly jerk back and forth beyond its normal limits. - The muscles and ligaments supporting the spine can be over-stretched or torn.
- The discs between the vertebrae can bulge, tear or rupture.
- Vertebrae can be forced out of their normal position, reducing range of motion.
- The spinal cord and nerve roots get stretched, irritated and choked
One problem with whiplash is that the symptoms can take years to develop and too often people do not seek treatment until more complications develop. Even after whiplash victims settle their insurance claims, some 45% report they still suffer with symptoms two years later. Call for you free evaluation. (678) 621-1110

- Hamstring and calf strains
- Groin & thigh sprains
- Achilles tendon injuries
- Neck pain

Painkilling drugs may temporarily relieve or mask symptoms but Chiropractors diagnose and treat the real cause of an injury.

Stretching is a form of exercise in which a specific muscle group is deliberately stretched in order to improve the muscle's elasticity and muscle tone. The result is a feeling of increased muscle control, flexibility and range of motion. Stretching is also used therapeutically to alleviate pain, symptoms of pinched nerves and muscle cramping. Knee pain is an increasing problem in society and as a result we see more and more patients with knee problems. Chiropractic treatment is very effective for many of the problems that cause knee pain and although a condition such as osteoarthritis is not curable, the symptoms can be reduced and the progression of the problem can be helped thanks to our unique approach to treatment.
- If knee pain is limiting your day-to-day or sporting activities,
- you have been given painkillers and been told to rest with no long-term improvement, or
- you have been told you have arthritis and there is nothing that can be done?
Then chiropractic treatment may well be the answer.

There’s nothing sweet about how much sugar people consume every day. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), the average adult in the United States takes in 22 teaspoons of added sugar a day, or a whopping 150 pounds a year, while teens pile in 34 teaspoons a day. That’s more than twice the amount of sugar we should be eating.
... “The average American is basically overdosing on sugar,” says Connie Bennett, author of Sugar Shock!, who believes that the AHA’s estimates of sugar consumption are conservative, and it’s closer to 50 teaspoons of added sugar a day.
The amount is shocking, and the potential health effects of excess sugar consumption are even scarier. Mounting evidence suggests that flooding your system with the sweet stuff can play a role in obesity, heart disease, and cancer. It can also impact how you look or feel, doing damage to your skin or altering your mood.

Most of the time, what is called a pinched nerve is actually an irritated, or inflamed nerve where the nerve itself is not actually pinched. In most cases, nerves become irritated and inflamed when the bones, joints or muscles of the spine are not in their proper position, or are not moving properly. This condition is called a “subluxation”, the treatment of which is the specialty of the doctor of chiropractic.

If you have been involved in a car accident, whiplash injuries need to be taken very seriously. Because symptoms of a whiplash injury can take weeks or months to manifest, it is easy to be fooled into thinking that you are not as injured as you really are. Free consultation (678) 621-1110

Let Us Help you lose the weight with Take Shape for Life and MEDIFAST (678) 621-1110 Posted on: April 16th, 2011 Recently published in the April 2011 issue of the Healthy Habits e-Newsletter.Do you have arthritis in your knees? At some point in their lives, more than half of all adults will develop symptoms of knee osteoarthritis,1 and the risk increases as bodyweight increases.2You may just have some occasional stiffness or discomfort, but arthritis can also make it difficult for you to exercise, work, socialize, and enjoy life. Many of the medications available for arthritis can be hard on the stomach. And taking medicine may help your symptoms, but not their cause. When you blunt your arthritis pain with pain relievers and continue with your normal daily activities, you can actually increase wear and tear on your arthritic knee joints. 3It’s easy to understand how a heavy body can put extra stress on weight-bearing joints such as the hips, knees, and ankles. A large belly can also affect posture, pulling the body out of alignment, stressing the back, shoulders, and neck. What’s more, joint pain can make exercise difficult or even impossible. And since regular physical activity is a Habit of Health, you need to make sure you’re doing everything you can to make exercise safe and comfortable. Many of us have experienced it, and science backs up the fact: Losing weight can ease the pain of arthritis. Researchers in Denmark showed overweight patients with arthritis in their knees experienced a “highly significant increase in function” by losing weight-specifically, body fat. Just a 10% decrease in body weight helped to improve symptoms of knee osteoarthritis by 28%.3With healthy weight loss, the Habits of Health, and your Health Coach’s guidance, you may find you can move more easily and comfortably along the path to Optimal Health.1 Murphy L, et al. Low back pain refers to pain felt in your lower back. You may also have back stiffness, decreased movement of the lower back, and difficulty standing straight. Causes, incidence, and risk factors Most people will have at least one backache in your life. While such pain or discomfort can happen anywhere in your back, the most common area affected is your low back. This is because the low back supports most of your body's weight. ... Low back pain is the number two reason that Americans see their health care provider -- second only to colds and flu. Many back-related injuries happen at work. But you can change that. There are many things you can do to lower your chances of getting back pain. You'll usually first feel back pain just after you lift a heavy object, move suddenly, sit in one position for a long time, or have an injury or accident. But before that injury or accident, the structures in your back were losing strength or changing. Acute low back pain is most often caused by a sudden injury to the muscles and ligaments supporting the back. The pain may be caused by muscle spasms or a strain or tear in the muscles and ligaments Symptoms You may feel a variety of symptoms if you've hurt your back. You may have a tingling or burning sensation, a dull achy feeling, or sharp pain. Depending on the cause, you also may have weakness in your legs or feet. Low back pain can vary widely. The pain may be mild, or it can be so severe that you are unable to move. Treatment To get better quickly, take the right steps when you first get pain and call your Chiropractor. Here are some tips for how to handle pain early on: •Stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This helps calm your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. •Apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48-72 hours, then use heat While sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. A common misbelief about back pain is that you need to rest and avoid activity for a long time. In fact, bed rest is NOT recommended. A.D.A.M. Medical Encyclopedia. Atlanta (GA): A.D.A.M.; 2011.Write your post here.
